May 17, 2023, Dryden, NY – Beginning June 1, 2023, Dryden Family Medicine will become part of Cayuga Medical Associates (CMA). The new practice will be renamed Cayuga Primary Care Family Medicine Dryden, bringing together two well-respected organizations and expanding quality care to the community.
Dryden Family Medicine has been a part of the Dryden community since Dr. John Ferger started his practice at his home in 1955 and is well-known for its patient-centered approach and commitment to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families. Led by Howard Silcoff, MD, and Mason Sopchak, DO, the practice has earned an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding medical care.
Patients should experience minimal change, as the 5 Evergreen Street location and contact information for providers remain the same. Medical records will be transitioned to Cayuga Medical Associates unless patients request a records transfer.
By joining forces with Cayuga Medical Associates, Dryden Family Medicine will leverage the resources, technology, and collaborative environment offered by Cayuga Health. This partnership enables Dryden Family Medicine to continue to provide comprehensive care to patients while maintaining the personalized attention and compassion for which they are known.
“We are pleased to welcome the providers and staff of Dryden Family Medicine – already a Cayuga Health Partner – to the CMA family,” says Martin Stallone, MD, President and CEO of Cayuga Health. “We look forward to working with them to extend their long and storied history of serving the Dryden area.”
“We have worked closely with CMA and Cayuga Health System (CHS) for many years already, and believe strongly in their expertise, their desire to provide high-quality care to all of us in this area, and their ability to help us move forward and keep our practice sustainable,” says Howard Silcoff, MD, Physician Partner for Dryden Family Medicine.

what our patients are saying
“The staff and accommodations at Cayuga Birthplace are amazing!!! This is what it I imagine it would feel like to be a celebrity getting VIP treatment. I wish I could stay longer – even the food options are 5 Star! The amenities are great. Everything is clean and designed beautifully. Not a single complaint, only praises!”
“I have been a Hemo dialysis patient for almost Five years. Prior to dialysis and during dialysis I have had several trips to the ER, due to other health issues & was admitted to CMC more than a few times. Each and every time I’ve been there, whether in patient or out, I have been treated with respect, professionalism, and efficiency. I give this hospital 2 thumbs up!! Thank you CMC for taking care of me all these years!!”
“I have to say the last couple visits that I’ve had here have been wonderful. About a month ago I had an EGD and the staff were amazing! Explained everything in detail and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous and the nurse I had was very comforting. Tonight we had to take my son to the emergency room and they were awesome with him! We got right in. “
“I have had many occasions visiting CMC for myself and family. We have never had a bad experience there at all. Last October I had surgery and the nurses were amazing especially my night nurse. Thank you to all CMC staff for doing what you do every day with a smile.”
