Registration is now open for the 2025 Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes Walkathon and 5K.
Join us for this special community event, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for cancer support services. As an affiliate of Centralus Health, the Cancer Resource Center continues its mission to provide compassionate, local support to individuals affected by cancer. The event will take place from 8 a.m. – Noon on Saturday, October 4 at Cass Park, Ithaca.
The Walkathon aims to bring together families, friends and supporters for a day of unity and hope. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join the easy, two-mile walk along the Riverfront Trail.
For this year’s event, the free pancake breakfast is back! A beloved tradition that hasn’t happened in several years, the pancake breakfast was always a highlight of the Walkathon. It not only offers free food, but also creates a sense of completion and community at the end of the walk and run.
The Cancer Resource Center is also looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. From setting up tables and cheering on participants and helping with registration, there are many ways to get involved. Volunteering is a great way to support the cause, meet new people, and be part of a meaningful day. Whether you have a few hours or can stay the whole morning, your help will make a big difference.
Proceeds from the Walkathon will directly benefit the Cancer Resource Center’s programs and services, which provide crucial support to area cancer patients and their families. To show your support, sign up today to walk, run the 5K, volunteer, start a fundraising team, or simply donate by clicking the Walkathon banner at www.crcfl.net.
“Walkathon is a powerful reminder of how deeply our community cares,” said Steph Bailey, System Director of Philanthropy for Centralus Health. “Every year, people come together in heartfelt support of friends, family, and neighbors facing cancer. Thanks to their generosity, we can ensure that no one has to face this journey alone.”

what our patients are saying
“The staff and accommodations at Cayuga Birthplace are amazing!!! This is what it I imagine it would feel like to be a celebrity getting VIP treatment. I wish I could stay longer – even the food options are 5 Star! The amenities are great. Everything is clean and designed beautifully. Not a single complaint, only praises!”
“I have had many occasions visiting CMC for myself and family. We have never had a bad experience there at all. Last October I had surgery and the nurses were amazing especially my night nurse. Thank you to all CMC staff for doing what you do every day with a smile.”
“I have been a Hemo dialysis patient for almost Five years. Prior to dialysis and during dialysis I have had several trips to the ER, due to other health issues & was admitted to CMC more than a few times. Each and every time I’ve been there, whether in patient or out, I have been treated with respect, professionalism, and efficiency. I give this hospital 2 thumbs up!! Thank you CMC for taking care of me all these years!!”
“I have to say the last couple visits that I’ve had here have been wonderful. About a month ago I had an EGD and the staff were amazing! Explained everything in detail and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous and the nurse I had was very comforting. Tonight we had to take my son to the emergency room and they were awesome with him! We got right in. “
