Cayuga Health is proud to announce that Cayuga Medical Center’s Birthplace has been awarded with Fidelis’ Maternal Child Health Award for Excellence for the second consecutive year. The evaluation process assesses hospitals based on various performance measures for uncomplicated pregnancies, including Cesarean section delivery rates, early elective delivery rates, overall unexpected newborn complications, routine vaginal births after C-sections, exclusive human milk feeding rates, episiotomy rates, birthing-friendly practices, and transparency on racial and ethnic disparities.

CMC’s Birthplace also received recognition for its commitment to maternal health care delivered in a rural setting. “Fidelis is proud to present Cayuga Medical Center with a Maternal Health Award for Excellence, as well as an Award for Excellent Care in a Rural Setting. The high level of maternity care provided by Cayuga Medical Center makes a profound impact on the community and those they serve,” said Shannon Lombardo, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Fidelis, commended Cayuga Medical Center.
