Local Traveler Program

Cayuga Health System’s local traveler program is a great alternative to working with traditional travel agencies. When you join Cayuga Health’s team, you will go through the same orientation as our permanent staff members to help you be successful during your time with us. Contracts are available for 13 weeks, 6 months, or 1 year, and pay is set based on market rates. You are able to customize your experience by working with our Clinical Education team to assess your skillset, and determine which unit(s) you would work in, and your flexible schedule would be set. Schedule blocks are 8 weeks long, and you will know your upcoming schedule 4 weeks before the scheduling block starts. Contracts may include planned time off, and for longer contracts, time off may be approved as things arise.

Who You Are

  • Highly adaptable, self-motivated, autonomous clinical professional capable of easily integrating into various team cultures & dynamics while providing excellent patient care and experience.
  • Flexible and comfortable with working in highly variable, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous staffing models while providing subject matter expertise in your clinical specialty area.
  • 1 years of recent, relevant experience in specialty area excluding time spent in residencies
  • Professional Licensure in Good Standing (no history of board actions)
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/FHM (relevant to role)
