Will follow NYS Guidelines and Limit visit Time.

March 2, 2021 Ithaca, New York – Cayuga Health announced today that it will resume its limited inpatient visitation policy due to the decrease of COVID-19 cases and declining hospitalizations within the community.

Visiting Hours at Cayuga Medical Center (CMC) are Monday – Friday 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visitation will be limited to one person per/day for a maximum of four hours at CMC.

Visiting Hours at Schuyler Hospital are Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – Noon & 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visitation will be limited to two persons per/day, allowing only one visitor at a time, for a maximum of four hours at SH. This does not apply to Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility at Schuyler Hospital where visitation restrictions are still in place.

Following state guidelines:
 Everyone entering the hospital or off-site location will be temperature checked (must be below 100 degrees) and screened for symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever, etc.) or potential exposure to someone with COVID-19. Failing the screening requirement will
preclude the visitor/support person from entry. Visitors will also be asked about past travel
practices based on the Governor’s announcement on new travel policies.
 Patients undergoing same day procedures may be accompanied to the facility by a
companion and that companion may remain with the patient through the initial intake
process; and may rejoin the patient during the discharge process.
 All visitors will be required to wear a mask for the entirety of their visit. Visitors who fail
to wear a hospital issued mask and other PPE will not be allowed in the facility.
 All visitors must remain in the patient’s room throughout the visit.
 All visitors must be 18 or older.

“We are pleased to be able to resume limited visitation for Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler
Hospital with strict monitoring to help maintain the safety of our patients and staff,” states Dr.
Martin Stallone, President & CEO of Cayuga Health. “We recognize that visitors are a significant
part of the healing process and we are very pleased to be able to allow patients visitation with
friends and family once again.”

The new visitation policy will go into effect on March 2, 2021. To learn more about visitation
hours and rules visit www.cayugamed.org or www.schuylerhospital.org.

what our patients are saying

“I have had many occasions visiting CMC for myself and family. We have never had a bad experience there at all. Last October I had surgery and the nurses were amazing especially my night nurse. Thank you to all CMC staff for doing what you do every day with a smile.”

“I have to say the last couple visits that I’ve had here have been wonderful. About a month ago I had an EGD and the staff were amazing! Explained everything in detail and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous and the nurse I had was very comforting. Tonight we had to take my son to the emergency room and they were awesome with him! We got right in. “

“I have been a Hemo dialysis patient for almost Five years. Prior to dialysis and during dialysis I have had several trips to the ER, due to other health issues & was admitted to CMC more than a few times. Each and every time I’ve been there, whether in patient or out, I have been treated with respect, professionalism, and efficiency. I give this hospital 2 thumbs up!! Thank you CMC for taking care of me all these years!!”

“The staff and accommodations at Cayuga Birthplace are amazing!!! This is what it I imagine it would feel like to be a celebrity getting VIP treatment. I wish I could stay longer – even the food options are 5 Star! The amenities are great. Everything is clean and designed beautifully. Not a single complaint, only praises!”
