August 3, 2020 Ithaca, NY – Cayuga Health officials announced today that Kids Care After Hours Pediatric Care has re-opened at Cayuga Medical Center in the Pediatrics Unit of the hospital with new summer hours. Pre-registration is now required, and patients/parents will need to wait in their car until called, and then enter through the CMC Emergency Department entrance. Kids Care precautionarily closed on April 24 due to the pandemic.
“We understand that babies, children and teens don’t always get sick or injured on weekdays or when the doctor’s office is open, so we are pleased to be able to re-open our Kids Care After Hours Pediatric Care,” states Dr. Martin Stallone, CEO of Cayuga Health. “We are focused on providing the very best in child health care and safety is our number one concern, so it is imperative that parents pre-register and follow all the new COVID-19 protocols.”
Kids Care offers pediatric and adolescent care for minor injuries and illnesses for infants and teens through age 17. Kids Care hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Parents can pre-register by calling (607) 274-4356 or visit www.cayugamed.org/services-2/kids-care for more information.
For all serious medical emergencies, we urge parents to go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
