September 29, 2020 Ithaca, NY – Cayuga Health announced that its popular quarterly Cayuga Health Magazine will now be available to everyone in a new digital, interactive format. The online shift was made to expand the magazine’s reach, and to better inform the community about what is happening inside their local healthcare system. The magazine uses video as a key component to communicate these stories.

“Over the past few years, we have been taking a hard look at what our goal is for the magazine and how we share our stories within the community,” states John Turner, Vice President, Public Relations, Cayuga Health. “We’ve had a lot going on at Cayuga Health over the past six months during the pandemic, and as a result have many uplifting and positive stories to tell. We want to engage and inform the community on what is happening, right here, with their local healthcare system.”

The content and focus of the magazine is to educate readers about expanded Cayuga Health services, sharing real patient and doctor experiences, as well as announcing their newest medical professionals and initiatives across the system. The feature of this magazine covers the tireless efforts of the health system and community during the ongoing battle of COVID-19.

The magazine was first published in black and white in 1996. In 2009, the magazine was upgraded to a full-color multi-page magazine which has been historically printed and distributed throughout the community to local residents, Cayuga Health practitioners’ offices, and across both Cayuga Medical Center and Schuyler Hospital waiting areas.

Cayuga Health produces several issues of the magazine each year. The Cayuga Health Magazine App can be downloaded directly from the Apple App Store and on Google Play or it can be read online at www.cayugahealthmagazine.org/.

“I have had many occasions visiting CMC for myself and family. We have never had a bad experience there at all. Last October I had surgery and the nurses were amazing especially my night nurse. Thank you to all CMC staff for doing what you do every day with a smile.”

“I have been a Hemo dialysis patient for almost Five years. Prior to dialysis and during dialysis I have had several trips to the ER, due to other health issues & was admitted to CMC more than a few times. Each and every time I’ve been there, whether in patient or out, I have been treated with respect, professionalism, and efficiency. I give this hospital 2 thumbs up!! Thank you CMC for taking care of me all these years!!”

“I have to say the last couple visits that I’ve had here have been wonderful. About a month ago I had an EGD and the staff were amazing! Explained everything in detail and made me feel at ease. I was very nervous and the nurse I had was very comforting. Tonight we had to take my son to the emergency room and they were awesome with him! We got right in. “
